Octopath Traveler Vs Xenoblade 2 . Since my post about octopath traveler vs bravely default sparked a very friendly discussion, i'd figure i'd start a new one! Octopath traveler is not my recommendation only by deduction, but because it is better than a love letter to the genre:

Fights drag on for way, way too long. A game that knows when to innovate, and when to pay homage to the classics. But overall, octopath traveler is an awesome old school jrpg with personal stories instead of a big threatening evil. Octopath is pretty good too, though. Imamelia 10 months ago #2.

In octopath traveler, you naturally accumulate bp every turn that goes by. Siriocaz 3 years ago #33 on the contrary, i think xenoblade 2 is more engrossing than octopath could ever hope to be, i just can't get into it, even after 10 hours and 6 of the main characters recruited. Not to mention xenoblade chronicles 2 is still get.

However, octopath traveler puts a spin on the usual formula used in these sorts of games: Once you use it up to go several times in a row, you just start at zero again and repeat the building. Octopath is like developers wanted to do old school jrpg but didn't undestand what made old school.

You’ll adventure across a world that’s a unique combination of 2d and 3d, collecting a team of heroes. Its a good quality execution ( and with gorgeous environments ), probably better than most contemporary examples, but its still doing the same thing lots of others do. Octopath traveler also has op stuff to do to progress fast but to me it's more enjoyable in octopath and a lot more fun for replayability and speedrunning. Xenoblade 2 is an epic quest were you can play a lot and the chapters and sidequests are log. That's the way to go. Still a good game if your more into.
